China Social Welfare Foundation Free Lunch Introduction:
In February 2011, a survey report on the nutritional status of students in poverty-stricken areas in China by the China Development Research Foundation of the Development Research Center of the State Council revealed that the nutritional intake of children in poverty-stricken areas in the central and western regions was seriously insufficient. Among the surveyed students, 12% were stunted, 72% %feel hungry during class; male and female boarding students are 10kg and 7kg lower in weight and 11cm and 9cm lower in height than the national average of rural students.
